Revitalising Rural Churches (2020-2021)

This project explored how medieval churches can be revitalised, using interactive media and technology, as sites for bringing together rural communities and enabling them to thrive drawing on the long history of such places as centres of secular as well as religious community life. This project was centred on St. Nicholas’ Church in Brockley, Somerset in collaboration with the Friends of Brockley Church and the support of the Churches Conservation Trust. It was part of ongoing work in rural communities by supersum. I contributed to the planning and running of community collaboration activities, the design of the interactive technology used to facilitate conversations with and between the local community, and photography for design and documentation.
